The knee is one of the most frequently injured joints in sports, making it an area our sports medicine physicians are very comfortable treating. Modern procedures to repair the injured meniscus and to reconstruct the anterior cruciate ligament have returned many young (and not-so-young) athletes and "weekend warriors" back to their field of dreams.
Treatment of the arthritic knee is also an important aspect of our practice. Modern surgery has made knee replacements as safe and as successful as the hip replacement. New anesthesia protocols greatly reduce the post-operative pain. The total knee replacement is one of modern medicine's greatest achievements, and one of the nation's most popular operations.
